  • Passive Voice with Present Continuous

 

Active  –>      Subject +  (is, are, am + base+ing))     + object

Passive –>      Object   +  (is, are, am + being)            + Past Participle (P.P)

 

Active –> They are fixing the car in the garage.

Passive –> The car is being fixed in the garage.

 

Active –> He is calling her right now.

Passive –> She is being called right now. 

 

Active –> I am preparing the books for the class.

Passive –> The books are being prepared for the class.

 

Active –> She is teaching me how to cook.

Passive –> I am being taught how to cook.

 

  • Passive Voice with Past Continuous

 

Active –>   Subject   +   (was, were + base+ing))     + object

Passive –>   Object     +  (was, were + being)            + Past Participle (P.P)

 

Active –> We were writing the letters when she came.

Passive –> The letters were being written when she came.

 

Active –> He was building a new website when I arrived.

Passive –> A new website was being built when I arrived.

 

Active –> I was downloading the programs when you called.

Passive –> The programs were being downloaded when you called.
